Youran Dairy, a leading upstream dairy operator in China and an affiliate of the country’s top dairy processor Yili, announced on March 2 that it plans to acquire an approximately 27.16% stake in Zhongdi Dairy for about HK$1.2 billion. This is another milestone for Youran after its acquisition of SK Xing in 2020 and Fonterra China farms in 2021.
Youran, which made its debut on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange in June 2021, owns 73 self-operated farms with over 370,000 dairy cattle as of end-2021, while Zhongdi operates nine dairy farms in China with approximately 75,000 cattle.
