Hunan Xiang Jia Husbandry, known as “the first stock of chilled poultry field in China”, has recently passed the completion acceptance of a 10,000-head breeding pig farm, completing its whole industrial chain layout of hogs.
Xiang Jia’s breeding pig farm is in Hunan Province, China, with an investment of over CNY 130 million ($18.03 million), expecting to gradually stock 10,000-head breeding sows and supply 250,000 commercial piglets annually after being put into production in Oct 2022.
He Yechun, vice president and board secretary of Xiang Jia, told AgriPost.CN that its breeding farm will mainly raise black pigs, but also some white pigs. The company has developed a variety of high and mid-grade chilled pork products derived from Xiangxi Black Pigs and sold them to the public.
He Yechun, also revealed the stocking capacity of breeding sows is expected to reach over 7,000 heads in 2022, to provide 40,000 heads and 200,000 heads of commercial hogs in 2022 and 2023, respectively.
Before that, Xiang Jia had started to lay out the pig farming business. By adopting the model of “company+farmers”, cooperating with farmers who raise local black pigs in Shimen and surrounding areas in Hunan Province, it started the raising of Xiang Jia local black pigs. “In the future, our pig fattening business will include self-raising and also close cooperation with farmers.” He Yechun Said.
Consolidate at every step
Although the IPO fund-raising project doesn’t cover the pig business, after listing on the Shenzhen Small and Medium-sized Board in April 2020, Xiang Jia started the layout of the whole industrial chain of hogs quickly through its wholly owned subsidiary, Hunan Taimiao Xianfeng Food Co.
In July 2020, Xiang Jia started the construction of a one million tons feed processing project in Shimen High-tech Zone, Hunan provenience, becoming the largest single integrated intelligent feed factory in Central China. It will meet the feed demand of 200 million broilers and one million hogs of Xiang Jia’s whole industrial chain business.
In 2022, Xiang Jia established the development strategy of ” Visionary strategic leadership, synergistic development of five business segments”, which means to construct a green circular economy industry chain, with the capacity to produce 100 million broilers, 10 million layers, 1 million live pigs, 500,000 tons of organic fertilizer and 100,000 tons of Shimen citrus within five years, finally, building a 10 billion industry cluster of Xiang Jia.
