Vietnam’s BAF Agricultural Joint Stock Company has unveiled plans for a high-rise pig farming complex modeled after China’s Muyuan Group, its strategic partner. With an expected annual output of 1.6 million hogs, the facility includes a 600,000-tonne feed mill and vertically structured pig barns. In a bold move to scale up its industrial swine operations, Vietnam’s BAF Agricultural Joint Stock Company has released renderings of its first high-rise pig farming facility. Modeled closely after Muyuan’s Neixiang integrated complex, the new project reflects the firms’ strategic collaboration. According to company announcements, BAF’s facility—planned for Tay Ninh Province in southern Vietnam—will span 1,550 hectares and be capable of housing 64,000 breeding sows. The complex is projected to reach an annual output of 1.6 million commercial pigs once fully operational. It will also include an integrated feed mill with a capacity of 600,000 tonnes per year.

The released architectural designs show a cluster of 16 vertically structured pig barns, supplemented by staff accommodations and other auxiliary buildings. The newly released renderings indicate that BAF’s facility is designed to fully benchmark against Muyuan’s Neixiang integrated complex near its headquarters in Nanyang, Henan province, which comprises 21 multi-story barns and supports an annual output of about 2.1 million commercial pigs.
By the end of June, Tay Ninh Province had formally approved the investment, paving the way for the project to advance into environmental impact assessments and land-use zoning procedures. The company states it now possesses “all necessary resources” to proceed with implementation. Additionally, BAF has plans to develop an adjacent slaughterhouse and pork processing facility to create a fully integrated supply chain.
Muyuan’s 2.1 million-head high-rise pig farm
Since formalizing its strategic partnership with Muyuan in September 2024, BAF has accelerated its expansion across Vietnam, setting an ambitious goal of 10 million pigs annually by 2030. The pace has been brisk. Within just over three months of the agreement, BAF acquired 14 farms, boosting its breeding capacity by 71,000 sows and adding output potential of 500,000 commercial pigs. These newly acquired farms are expected to come online between 2025 and 2026.Talks are ongoing to acquire more than 10 additional farms.
Currently, BAF operates nearly 40 modern pig farms across the country and anticipates reaching 1 million pigs sold in 2025. It also owns two feed mills with a combined annual capacity of 460,000 tonnes and operates a retail network of over 400 fresh meat shops and outlets.
Under the partnership, Muyuan provides BAF with technological and operational support. This includes designing raw-material storage facilities; designing feed mills using Muyuan’s equipment and technology; designing and guiding standard laboratories; providing consulting and transfer of environmental treatment technologies; providing management consulting, operational support, and team development training; and applying smart farming equipment.
